Horse & Rider Coaching

Need Help Working Through an Issue With Your Horse?

Sometimes you don't need someone to take your horse away for training — you need someone experienced beside you helping you understand what is happening, what your horse is telling you, and what to do next.

Our assisted training sessions are designed for horse owners who want hands-on help improving communication, confidence, responsiveness, and everyday skills with their own horse.

The goal isn't just to "fix the horse." We work with the horse and owner together so you understand the process, learn how to respond consistently, and can continue the work confidently after the session ends.
What We Can Work On

Real-World Horse & Rider Problems

Every horse is different. Sessions can be tailored around the specific issue you're experiencing and what you want to accomplish.

Ground Manners

Leading, personal space, standing quietly, responsiveness, grooming, tying and other everyday handling skills.

Groundwork

Building communication, respect, body control and confidence before taking the work into the saddle.

Rider Confidence

Helping riders understand what is happening, regain confidence and communicate more clearly with their horse.

Responsiveness

Improving steering, stopping, transitions, body control, softness and the horse's response to rider cues.

Problem Solving

Work through specific habits, confusion or training gaps that are making riding or handling frustrating.

Horse & Rider Partnership

Learn to read your horse, understand their reactions and build clearer communication between horse and rider.

Assisted Training

We Work Through It With You

This is different from sending your horse away to a trainer. You stay involved in the process. We can demonstrate, work directly with the horse when appropriate, explain what we're seeing, and then help you practice the same techniques yourself.

Evaluate the horse-and-rider interaction
Identify where communication is breaking down
Demonstrate techniques when helpful
Coach you while you work with your horse
Create practical exercises to continue at home
Adjust the session around your horse's needs
Private Coaching

Session Pricing

Bring your own horse. Sessions are private and focused on the goals or issues that matter to you.

Focused Session
1 Hour
$80
Best for a specific issue, groundwork, follow-up coaching, or riders who already have a clear goal they want to work on.
Extended Session
2 Hours
$150
Best for more complicated issues, multiple training goals, confidence rebuilding, or when both groundwork and ridden work are appropriate.

Sometimes a Training Problem Isn't Just a Training Problem

Changes in behavior can sometimes be related to discomfort, tack fit, hoof issues, dental concerns, physical limitations or other underlying causes.

If something we see suggests that your horse may need evaluation by a veterinarian, farrier, saddle fitter or another equine professional, we'll tell you. More serious or unsafe behavior issues are evaluated individually before a session is accepted.
